Bedford Park, Illinois, May 2007 — For more than forty years, Folding Guard had been using a “dip coating” method to paint its products. Individual parts were dipped into wet paint and then required prolonged drying time. The wet paint required frequent clean-ups and color options were limited.

Folding Guard recently built a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and rather than installing the same kind of dip coating systems used in the past, Folding Guard chose to build a technologically advanced powder coating system. In this new, more sophisticated method of painting products, dry powder paint pigments are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto individual parts. The parts are then placed in an oven and the powder particles melt and coalesce to form a continuous film.

Powder coating produces a smooth, hard, chemical-resistant finish that won't chip or peel. As a result, customers get a product with a longer life-span — that's virtually maintenance free, and looks better. And the color choices with powder coating are virtually limitless. Folding Guard offers standard and specialty colors, and can match corporate colors as well. Today Folding Guard leads the industry in quality and durability of product finish.

The price for powder coated Folding Guard products remains the same as dip coated products.
